A new twist in online banking, lending, borrowing, and investing has emerged at www.prosper.com. Part of the new twist is that you can be a part of the bank by loaning as little as $50 of your own money to someone else. You can be seated on the bank’s side of the loan officer’s desk for as little as $50. Another big difference is that you will earn interest on the portion you invest in a loan.

No, it isn’t another get-rich-quick work-at-home scheme. It’s a legitimate new way of banking and investing that brings us back to the concept of neighbors helping neighbors. Chris Larsen, the founder, dreamed of creating a concept in the likeness of eBay except the product in this case is money. The dream has come to fruition and now consumers possibly have a start at giving the banking industry a run for its money by being in the decision maker’s seat. (more…)
