What a HUGE Success the ChocoBlarty Was Yesterday!

Welcome! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you won't miss the Blarties (=blog+party) on the weekends. To find out more about our Blarties check out this post, too. Looking forward to seeing you on the weekends!

Wow! The week is off to a GREAT start after the HUGE success of the ChocoBlarty we had yesterday! Don’t cha just LOVE spontaneity?! Considering the number of people that stopped by and all the comments, I DO believe we’ve discovered a GREAT new way to mix and mingle and party together while blogging and listening to lots of great rock and roll music.

Even though I had to step out and go shopping with DH, Hope called me on my cell phone and filled me in about what was going on. If that happens again I’ll make DH take his Blackberry so I can STAY at the blarty…LOL! As hard as I was laughing while on the phone with Hope as I stood in the aisle of the store, I had to wonder what the folks manning the security cameras were thinking about the woman standing in an aisle all alone ROFLHBO!

I can hardly wait until this weekend for another blartyin’ time! For those of you that didn’t get here until after everybody had gone home, be sure to mark your calendar to pop in starting early Friday morning. One thing I’m gonna have to prepare myself for is responding to the comments during the blarties. I’m gonna have to be on my toes and quick on the draw cuz they were comin’ fast and furiously, and they’re STILL comin’ this morning! I LOVE it!

We’ll be doing this every weekend as long as everybody continues to join. So, if ya wanna bring treats, please do! Do what Mark did and serve ‘em up on your blog. We’ll come by and help ourselves to a servin’, or two or three or…LOL! OR, if you wanna host a blarty in YOUR room (your blog), let us know that, too, and we’ll come a runnin’ to check out YOUR blarty!

I’ve gotta get some work done today, but I’m going to keep peepin’ in the door of the blarty “room”. So, if you stop by to check it out and leave a comment, I’ll respond as soon as I have a moment to raise my head and see it there.

Let’s Get This Blarty Started!

UPDATE on the ChocoBlarty at this post.

I know, you’re wonderin’, “What the HECK izza BLAR-ty?!” It’s a blog party complete with music! Actually, it seems somebody’s been havin’ a blarty already recently over at Mark’s GoingLikeSixty.com blog. I was flattered to discover the blarty going on here has helped Mark “tune” his 3 R’s, i.e. readin’, writin’, and rockin’.

I added the player a short while back cuz I LOVE music of all kinds, especially the stuff that keeps me feelin’ young. I don’t know ’bout you, but I intend to be and remain young at heart until….well, just until…. Life is for livin’ and I ain’t stoppin’ NOW just cuz o’ some number that says I ain’t (is TOO in the dictionary!) anymore!

Soooooooooooo…at Mark’s request to “Keep it up…”, I’ve decided that every Friday from now on we’ll have a weekend long blarty here at BBNR&O. Every Friday I’ll add up, switch up, ‘n mix up the songs on the player to keep it fresh. If you’ve got any ideas to pump up this blarty, holler at me.

So break out the microwave popcorn and let’s BLAH-tehhhhhhhhh!!! :-)

From Cotton Pickin’ in Nutbush to a Life of Luxury in France

Filed under: News, Reviews, & Observations, Observations, Entertainment, Music — angela @ 2:33 am

Imagine beginning your life and growing up pickin’ cotton in a place called Nutbush, Tennessee. Now imagine living your life 60 some odd years later in the south of France in the home of your dreams after spending the last several decades traveling and entertaining the world.

How on earth did somebody from a place called NUT-bush in Tennessee end up in such a wonderful life in the south of France and what on earth took place in between all that time? Ask Tina Turner. She’ll tell ya.

Her victorious life story is the epitome of every downtrodden woman’s dream. She overcame some of the biggest obstacles a woman could EVER have to face, and, as we all know, went on to be one of the greatest female entertainers of all time.

She came, she saw, she conquered…and she didn’t need another hero to do it, either. Spunky woman that she was and is, she demanded that ya betta be good to her because what’s love got to do with it?

What I wouldn’t give now as I creep up on my 50’s to have just a little bit of the energy this woman still had all the way up into her 60’s! She was and still is simply the best! I LOVE IT and her, and so does Hope! So here she is
