Boomer Women are Writing History Again Now!

Welcome! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you won't miss the Blarties (=blog+party) on the weekends. To find out more about our Blarties check out this post, too. Looking forward to seeing you on the weekends!

bbdiva-button125x62.gifHoly cow! Ding, ding, ding went my Google notifier last night! While surfing and listening to my favorite music, my email inbox was suddenly inundated with email messages from Baby Boomer Divas hand picked by THE BABY BOOMER DIVA herself, Beverly Mahone. Beverly has taken the world and the web by storm with the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame and is bringing together some FANTABULOUS and talented Divas.

The Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame is fast becoming THE WEB of Divas! Their fields of expertise range from journalism, writing, event planning, virtual assistance, coaching, acting, singing, producing and more. What matters isn’t whether or not they’re successful according to society’s standards, but instead, whether or not a woman is Divinely Inspired, Vivacious, and Anointed according to Bev, a self-proclaimed Baby Boomer Diva.

Bev is on a roll determined to bring together and showcase the women of our generation and show the world Boomer women won’t be settling into rocking chairs anytime soon, but instead to show it we are divinely inspired, vivacious, and anointed women with plenty of energy and vitality to keep on LIVING and make a difference! We won’t just fade away into the sunset without first leaving an indelible mark…again.

We’re living our lives the way we see fit and doing what we believe we are called to do. We’ve cast off all the old notions of previous generations as far what is expected of us and life at this stage of the game. We still seek challenges, adventure, and to do all we dreamed of doing while busy with other obligations and expectations in our younger years. Those years are over now…we’re free to be the person we WANT to be. Not the person society EXPECTS us to be. Yes, I said, “…we WANT…” Why? Because ‘want’ is desire and desire is divinely inspired.

I’ve been blessed with the honor of being included in Bev’s Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame with all those remarkable Boomer women. I can definitely appreciate it because I do seek to be divinely inspired, vivacious, and anointed. What an honor and how encouraging to be included with women who are still determined to make the world a better place in their own way!

Look out world! Say whatcha want and think whatcha wish about the Boomer generation and its women. These Divas have cut loose and busted free of all pre-conceived notions about life after forty. They’re Boomers, the generation known for paving the way to a NEW way of thinking, believing, and living! History is in the making again NOW! Cheers to my Diva Sisters and Boomer women everywhere!

TV Land is Looking for YOU Now, Baby Boomer!

When your kids were growing up what was the one thing you and your spouse passionately dreamed about together that would have to wait until the kids were grown? Ok, so now they’re grown, out on their own (or at least out of the house anyway), you’re free now of daily child/teen stuff, and here you still sit without having realized that dream yet. How would you like to have a shot at realizing that dream in the near future?

Well, list’n up cuz now’s your chance for a shot at knockin’ down the barriers and seeing that dream come true! If you and your spouse are 45-55 years old with a dream you’ve been passionate about and just haven’t been able to figure out how to realize that dream, TV Land is looking for YOU! They know sometimes things in life just have a way of getting in the way of our dreams so they want to be a part of helping you and your spouse realize that dream!

All you have to do is contact Amber Mike, Associate Producer of TV Land by calling her at 646-747-7940 or you can email her at amber dot mike at rds dot com (of course, no spaces between all that) to let her know you’d LOVE the opportunity to realize your dream and request an application. Click on over to Beverly Mahone’s podcast for firsthand information straight from Amber Mike. Spread the word to all the Baby Boomers you know, too!

Other Baby Boomers News & Observations

Awww, how disappointing to hear one of your ole favs has been dissin’ ya (i’zat how they say it these days?) all these years! I was just over at The Rock Relic’s blog catchin’ up and read that Dave Clark of The Dave Clark Five wasn’t REALLY playing the drums when the rest of his buddies were REALLY doing their thing.

I’ve got to give thanks to Alexa Pierce over at The Aging Hipsters. Earlier this week she was hard at work paving the way for some of us younger Baby Boomers contemplating whether or not our sixties really are the new thirties. She was a smart woman way back when it was thought women “could bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan” (you’ll see what I mean when you read her post) so I wasn’t the least bit surprised at how she’s embraced her entry into her sixties. I’m no longer feeling as though I’ll be on a rapid downhill slide when I tip over to the other side of 50 (hmmm…does this mean I’m only going into my twenties?) later this year as far as enjoying the rest of my life after reading her observations.

Rhea at The Boomer Chronicles shares a book and a couple of links that will provide some tips to catch up on your retirement savings.

Have you ever seen the original concept of a sports car that inspired the Ford Mustang? Ron Enderlund shared a picture of it in his post about the appearance of the Ford Mustang as well as a little of its history. I think I prefer the sports car concept Lee Iaccoca came up with and I’m sure you’ll agree.

There’s another blog I was going to mention here, but I decided to save it for sometime next week. Stay tuned cuz I KNOW you’ll enjoy this one if you haven’t already discovered it out there. Oh, and prepare to take a trip back to the late 50’s and early 60’s when the teens DID have something fun to do and watch in the afternoons after school.
