Marie LeVeaux

Welcome! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you won't miss the Blarties (=blog+party) on the weekends. To find out more about our Blarties check out this post, too. Looking forward to seeing you on the weekends!

Hello Boomer readers, I hope everyone had a nice Labor Day. I took advantage of the three-day weekend and went to visit some family “down in Lou-isiana where the black trees grow”. Boy, a body can do some damage down there with all the fresh seafood and Good Eats. I’m not even Catholic, but I feel the need to go to confession.

If you ever find yourself traveling I-10 through southern Louisiana, plan to stop in Lafayette, the heart of Cajun country, and check out DeanO’s, “Italian Food with a Cajun Flair”; there’s also one in Baton Rouge.

DeanO’s offers design-your-own and specialty pizzas, poboys, pasta, salads, and Fried Oreos, e.g. an Oreo encased in a pizza dough ball, deep fried, drizzled with chocolate, and sprinkled with powdered sugar!

What keeps me going back for more is their Marie LeVeaux, a specialty pizza with “Blue Point” Crabs sautéed with mushrooms, onions, and spices. Oh the Voo they Doo! If you’re not a Seafood lover like me, don’t worry they have something for everyone.

DeanO’s began in 1971 and has always been family owned and run. Boasting made-from-scratch sauces, a patented blend of spices; and they still use brick ovens. Pizzas can be frozen upon request with prior notice for taking home to bake. Sizes range from a six inch (personal) to a giant fourteen inch, and you can get either regular or whole wheat crusts.

I contacted DeanO’s (www.deanospizza.com) and asked if they ship, sorry I don’t have better news, but currently they do not. If that changes, I’m all over it, and I’ll be the first to let you know.

Bon Appetite
