Welcome! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you won't miss the Blarties (=blog+party) on the weekends. To find out more about our Blarties check out this post, too. Looking forward to seeing you on the weekends!

abblcktnk.jpgWell, it’s about fun, food, family, friends, fellowship, funky music, and well, uh, gadgets and stuff. Sorry, couldn’t come up with a word for that kind of thang that starts with an “f”. Oh well, you get the picture.

Listen, we still like to have a good time and enjoy life…no need for all that gloom and doom you read about everywhere these days as far as Boomers go. Geez! Don’t know ’bout the rest of ‘em, but, good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, I ain’t got one foot in the grave yet and I have no intentions to step near it anytime soon if’n I got anything to do with it! Life’s just too dang good and I fully intend to enjoy it to the fullest all the way to the end!

Hope and I both like to travel so when we do, we’ll share our trips with ya, too! We like to explore…check out restaurants..wineries…music…history, and anything else unique to an area. Occasionally she and her DH spend the weekend with my DH and me. You just might find us sharing some of our fun and adventures here on those weekends, too.

So, stick around…fellowship with us…you’ll love our Blarties on the weekends! Who said we’re too old to party anymore?! Bring ‘em on over here…we’ll perk ‘em up…get the juices flowin’ again…make ‘em M-O-V-E. Bring your friends…and your family…and your pets…and anybody else you wanna bring with ya! Gotta dancin’ dog or kitty? We’d LOVE to see it!

Got snacks? We LOVE snacks! Please share! Just post a pic on YOUR blog, leave a comment here with your link in it, and we’ll buzz on over to your serving table for a nibble or two or three or…better make plenty! :-) Occasionally we’ll feature some kitchen gadget that makes preparing all the food we love to eat a pleasure, too. Hope, aka The Backseat Gourmet, is the chef/chief cook/and bottle washer around here so you’ll have to check out her posts filed under The Backseat Gourmet for all the goodies published here

Got a song request? Use the Contact Form to send it to us. We’ll do our best to find it and load it up for ya so YOU can have lots of fun blartyin’ with us! We like to play with electronic stuff, too, (couldn’t think of a word beginning with an “f” for that, either) so sometimes we’ll feature some spiffy thangs we found to be useful or fun.

So, backitup Jack! Take ya shoes off, crank up ya speakers, sit back with ya favorite sip, and buzz on over to the categories listed on the right sidebar, see what you can find around here, and enjoy yourselves! Leave us a comment and let us know whatcha think, k? If it’s good, GREAT! If not, oh well, we can please some of the people some o’ the time, but we can’t please all the people all o’ the time. That’s awight…we enjoyed having you stop by anyway! I hope we at least lifted your spirits! ;-)

  1. I found your blog through Bea Kunz’ newsletter. You have a charming idea here for presenting your ideas in an articulate authoritive manner without coming across as a salesperson. Good Fortune.

  12. G’day Angela,

I’m glad I dropped in today, lovely blog and some great ideas! So your’e an infomaniac eh? haha Brilliant! I am a ‘born advocate’, according to a past college teacher, which is probably why one of my websites has a community board which you might like to check out later? I am also senior staff writer these days for a magazine, and love sharing my own words on an issue close to my heart…raising awareness to ovarian cancer. To cut a long story short mate,my mother was diagnosed with the disease in March, 2000, but passed away just 20 days short of my 40th birthday in July-There’s so much that women need to know about this (if they don’t already know) so I would like to extend my invitation to any wishing to learn more, drop by Scent Of A Freesia-
Wow, sitting here and loving the music!! Tina Turner is unreal and I love the songs playing! Everytime I hear ‘We dont need another hero’ I think of the movie Mad Max, and our own Mel Gibson..cool!
Anyway mate, its nice to meet another with such passion and look forward to more blogging here..

    You have a great day,
    cheers
    Deb

  18. I was browsing around for baby boomer e-Book ideas, and I found this site. I didn’t find what I was looking for, so I was going to leave… but I couldn’t. That music is just soooo good, I couldn’t. Some of those songs I haven’t heard in years… since I was a little kid. I cannot believe you put Milli Vanilli in there. OMG. That is just too funny. CCR, Van Morrison, Tina Turner, Aerosmith, Buffalo Springfield, Steppenwolf… ahhh… the good ‘ol days. Really takes a guy on the virge of turning 30 back. Only thing missing is some Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

    Comment by JJP — September 21, 2007 @ 5:06 pm

  19. Hey JJP! Glad you stumbled upon us Boomers here. Guess it WAS a little surprising to discover some of us Boomers still like to live it up, huh? :-)

Milli Vanilli…LOL! Regardless of what happened with their music, I STILL like it…love it, as a matter of fact. ;-)

Don’t underestimate this Boomer…check back weekly cuz I add new songs every Friday…Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd will show up sooner or later. :-)

Hope to see you stop in often!

  25. Hi Vicki! Thank you! I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit.

I’m a 50’s Boomer, too. My full intent is to carry on here in a manner that reminds others to enjoy life, every moment of it.

  26. Angela,

I have to say… the music back then, you could dance to. These days, the stuff they put out is just not dancing music. Not sober dancing music, anyway. ;-)

They still have good rock music, and good country music, but they don’t have that middle of the road music you can just cut a rug too.
