Just a quick note

Filed under: News, Reviews, & Observations — angela @ 10:36 pm

Welcome! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you won't miss the Blarties (=blog+party) on the weekends. To find out more about our Blarties check out this post, too. Looking forward to seeing you on the weekends!

Just posting a quick note to let you all know there possibly won’t be much posted on the blog this week. A couple of things have transpired and are going on in our personal lives that demand both of our attention.

Hope’s Grandmother passed away this evening. Hope was very close to her Grandmother so I know this will be a difficult time for her. I don’t expect her to post until she feels up to it and I’m not sure when that will be. If any of you would like to send her your condolences, you can use our contact form and I’ll make sure she gets your message as soon as possible.

As for my situation, hopefully I’ll know before night’s end that all is well and will be well. I just received a call about my son making a trip to the emergency room and I’m waiting to hear more about whether or not he’s ok. He’s not one to go to the Dr. or the ER unless he’s truly in pain, so no doubt something’s amiss, just not sure what at the moment.

I have a feeling he will be ok, but, of course, anytime your child is hurting, you hurt, too. I hurt for him right now and that won’t stop until I know he’s ok and all is well. For the time being, that’s where my heart and mind are. I will be checking email and checking for comments…I just don’t have my mind on blogging right now.

I hope everybody had a Thanksgiving holiday filled with gratitude and thanksgiving!

Those Boots Were Made For…

…what WERE those Go-Go boots made for anyway? Doin’ the Pony? The Swim? Remember all that? I did just as soon as I saw in my stats that someone had landed here while searching for “70’s boots white”. Of course, the Go-Go boots were a 60’s thang. I was in the 3rd grade when I got mine.

I wore them with EVERYTHING, including the lime green and hot pink vertically striped dress and hot pink fishnet hose I had. Ya gettin’ a visual? LOL! Thought I was sumpin’ else, lemme tell ya, as did every other girl in my class who also had ‘em AND the funky, neon colored and psychodelic dresses. WHAT a memory! Thank God we didn’t yet have one of those Kodak Instant Cameras!

Ok, be nice! I was ONLY in the 3rd grade, ok?! My Mother picked out that “stylish” dress and hose, but it was one of the few times she and I actually agreed on my clothing. Ok, I can’t BELIEVE I actually wore that either!

The shoe store from which we purchased my Go-Go boots was built like the ole shoe the ole woman lived in. I’ll never forget it. How could you? Wonder if that building, er, boot is still standing? The decor inside was rather surprising when you walked into the store. Considering it looked like a big ole boot, you certainly didn’t expect to walk into a place with modern 60’s decor, but you did.

So, tell me, what were those boots made for?
