Well, I’m having one of those days, but I’m not too concerned because I’ve always got my trusty Kuhn Rikon 7 Liter Pressure Cooker handy. I’ll be able to serve up a hearty meal of roast, potatoes and carrots that serves 4-6 for supper tonight in roughly an hour with this puppy!

You betcha you read that right! And, yes, pressure cooking with the Kuhn Rikon Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker is safe. According to the Quick Quisine manual and recipe book I received free with mine, “The DUROMATIC pressure cookers by KUHN RIKON belong to the new second generation of pressure cookers. These pressure cookers are built with safety features that make it impossible for experiences such as your grandmother had.”

Before purchasing mine 3 years ago I had never used a pressure cooker in my life. Needless to say, I was concerned about the safety issue, too. So, I can tell you honestly that even the cook least experienced with pressure cooking can use this pressure cooker safely PROVIDED they read and follow the instructions in the manual.

Whenever I ordered mine I also ordered the Pressure Perfect cookbook by Lorna Sass. Lorna’s cookbook is chock full of pressure cooking recipes for soups, broths, meats, poultry, fish, veggies, pasta, rice, beans, whole grains, and desserts.

Other benefits of using the Kuhn Rikon Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker is that the nutrients and flavors are preserved while cooking. You won’t believe the awesome flavor of foods when you use it! The flavors and nutrients are locked in by the pressure during cooking rather than allowed to escape via the steam. Because pressure cooking cuts cooking time down to a bare minimum you’ll also save on your energy bills, AND, in that respect, you could consider yourself cooking green.

Got any pressure cooker tips, tricks, or recipes you’d like to share? Leave ‘em in a comment for all to see, k? For now, I gotta go…gotta get that roast on!

  2. Not a pressure cooker but a new Cook Book from the 1970’s I revised, added 1000 color graphics/pictures and enought quotes, jokes, food facts that separates this cook book from ALL others. See at www.haroldhester.com open the book page and order as many you will need. Enjoy. Harold
