Filed under: News, Reviews, & Observations, Observations — angela @ 12:10 am

Welcome! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you won't miss the Blarties (=blog+party) on the weekends. To find out more about our Blarties check out this post, too. Looking forward to seeing you on the weekends!

I’m about to burst at the seams while waiting for the right time to share some REALLY exciting news I received the other day! But you’re going to have to stay tuned until I know it’s “Ok” to share it to find out what it is. Here’s a couple of hints:

  1. Itsy bitsy teeny weeny, but no yellow polka dots.
  2. We’re gonna ROCK…around…the clock t’night…

First one to guess correctly will receive a $15 Gift Certificate for beauty products from me. (Click on the Visit Me… link under Angela’s Sites in the left sidebar to see which brand…I’m not allowed to say it outright due to trademarks, copyright…blah, blah, blah.) Guys, I DO TOO have stuff for you OR you can give something special to the special lady in your life. Of course, I won’t be able to let you know who wins until I know it’s ok for me to share my EXCITING news.

Roadhouse Meal Deal - Two Can Dine for 12.99

Filed under: News, Reviews, & Observations, Food & Drink, Observations — angela @ 7:35 am

Who loves listenin’ to jammin’ tunes on the jukebox while dining in a real American roadhouse? Who loves grilled steaks cut fresh by a meat cutter on site? Who loves food made from scratch? Who loves a super meal deal for two and a good cold drink with all the above? You do?

Then you will LOVE the Two Can Dine for $12.99 special offered every Monday and Tuesday at Logan’s Roadhouse. My cousin and her husband did, and they were very pleased with the deal, the food, and the service. Here’s what she had to say about it when she emailed me to check it out when we get the opportunity:

We actually ate there Monday night (Logan’s Roadhouse); Jeff had the catfish and I had the Mesquite Grilled Chicken (which I always get), grilled chicken breast served over rice pilaf with a Parmesan Peppercorn Dressing/Sauce, plus they both came with 2 sides…..we both had a side salad as one, and Jeff had the onion petals, while I had more rice pilaf as my other side. Some of the choices on the Two can Dine for $12.99 menu are noted as coming in lunch portions, such as the Grilled Meatloaf; but I always get the Mesquite Grilled Chicken, which usually runs around $10.99, and I got the same amount of food as I always do….the food and service were good. Our ticket with (2) teas and the Special ($12.99) was $18 and some change. It’s hard to go to a fast food restaurant for that amount; we like Moe’s and Zaxby’s, and we usually spend more than $18.

Bon Appetite,
Hope

DH and I haven’t had the pleasure of the Logan’s Roadhouse experience yet, but you can bet your sweet britches we’ll be on the lookout for them on Monday’s and Tuesday’s when we’re traveling from now on. Unfortunately, the closest one to our location is 3 1/2 hours away. Have you been there? What’s your take on the food/drinks, service, and atmosphere?

Baby Boomer Celebrity Inducted into Diva Web of Fame

Baby Boomer Celebrity R&B Singer Natalie Cole has been inducted into the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame. The idea to establish a Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame is the brainchild of baby boomer author Beverly Mahone who says, “This is my way to recognize baby boomer women who are on the move and making a difference. Natalie Cole represents what it means to be a baby boomer diva. She’s Divine, Inspirational, Vivacious and Anointed. The author of Whatever! A Baby Boomer’s Journey Into Middle Age adds, “Members of my generation grew up listening to songs by her famous dad, Nat King Cole so it is fitting that she would be included in my elite group of women.

Ms. Mahone selected the famous daughter of Nat King Cole after meeting her during a Women’s Empowerment Event in Raleigh, NC. Mahone says she was totally impressed by Natalie Cole and her message. Mahone says, “Her famous dad wooed audiences back in the 1950s and ‘60s with a variety of hits including, Unforgettable, Mona Lisa and Lazy, Hazy Crazy Days of Summer. Natalie continues to woo audiences today with her incredible voice and empowering message of being a survivor against all odds. It is an honor to welcome her into our exclusive club!” To qualify for the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame, Ms. Mahone says a woman must meet the following criteria:

2) Pursuing her passion in life
3) Striving to help others succeed
4) Have overcome one major personal or professional challenge/obstacle
