Sad They’re Going Home

I’m feeling a little down right now. In a few hours after we’ve had some sleep we will be taking the 3 little ones back home 7 hrs away. It’s been a whirlwind of a time this last two weeks keeping up with them, especially The Toddler, but I hate to see them leave. They live too far away as do their cousins. If only we could have at least a vacation home near them.

Little Man, the 6 year old, was sad when we reminded him it was bedtime and that we had to make the long drive home tomorrow. He doesn’t want to go home yet. You see, his battery powered Power Wheels and the 4-wheelers are here at our house. :-) The 11 year old hasn’t yet expressed a reluctance to go home, but we know how much he loves it here. He spent the biggest part of his first five years of life here with us and his Mom.

I suppose I should go get a few hours of sleep now. It’s going to be a long trip with The Toddler probably. Oh, but wait. I’ve just got to share a little picture slide of the boys coming out of the woods on the 4-wheeler with Little Man frantically screaming out, “Mamaw! Mamaw! It’s a cricket! It’s a cricket!” Um, there’s a grasshopper on the front fender. Big Man, the 11 year old, feels confident enough to drive a 4-wheeler but isn’t about to touch a grasshopper. Little Man with his trusty weapon, The Shoe, to the rescue! Memories made again.

Ok, Some Aussie Suckah Tagged Me and Now I Am It and Seven Other Bloggers are also It!

Filed under: News, Reviews, & Observations, Blogging, Entertainment — angela @ 10:54 am

That’s supposed to be a joking headline, Sire!!! I hope you see it that way. I like you, too. :-)

I had every intention of getting to this yesterday. However, evidently we are on our way into a full moon which seems to have kicked up the speed of life, as well as that of The Toddler’s, a notch or two. I haven’t been able to keep up with everything coming at me, especially The Toddler who seems to have developed a fascination with the sound of pulling the tabs on her diaper loose. ***Mental Note*** Suggest The Toddler’s Mom graduate her immediately to Pull-ups which have no tabs.

Anyway, according to the rules of this game, you list 7 things about yourself and then tag 7 other bloggers leaving a comment on their blog to let them know they’ve been tagged, too. So, here’s 7 things about me:

1) I’m not a twin or a member of any multiple set for that matter, but I am a member of WIN aka Women In Networking where there’s a multitude of women that love to network with other women.

2) There are approximately 9000 people living in the town where I have lived for the last 4 years and I’ve yet to get to know more than 5 of them in a personally. I have more online and distant friends than I do local friends.

3) I love Dunkin Donuts coffee.

4) I not only love, but also like my husband of many, many years. :-)

5) I love to see others succeed, especially those that must overcome tremendous obstacles. They give me hope and remind me during tough times that where there’s a will there’s a way.

6) I hope and pray I succeed at planting seeds of love, generosity, kindness, patience, hope, faith, truth, and goodness in the hearts of my grandchildren. That’s one of my top missions in my life now.

7) I hope to live to a ripe old age and still be spirited with a zest for life and a desire for adventure.

Now to tag others that hopefully don’t mind playing the game, too.

1) Chris Hoyt is another Boomer from Arkansas with a fun and interesting blog at ChrisHoyt.com. I had to hide the picture of the motorcycle on his blog before DH saw it.

2) Anne shares cooking skills and recipes at Cooking with Anne for those that have a large family to serve. I can relate to her because I had to cook for a family of 7 myself up until a little more than 10 yrs ago. Phew! Whatta job!

3) I can certainly appreciate information about what I can wear that will have a slimming effect on certain areas so Talysha of Spotlight on Style is my heroine this week. Thank you, Talysha! :-)

4) Sindhu has some fascinating information and photographs of India on her blog at Flower Girl’s Rural India.

5) EJ Cooksey homeschools in the Ozarks. She’s so lucky to live there. The Ozarks are beautiful!

6) Kerri shares her experiences dealing with being a diabetic along with a bit of her daily life laced with some humor at Six Until Me. Fortunately, to the best of my knowledge, I’ve been successful in keeping things in check physically before the fate of some of my other family members came knocking…Type II Diabetes.

7) Sherry Freward is a Wild Mama With a Keyboard who claims “there’s more to life than food”. There is?

Tag! You’re all it! ;-)
